Beach Trip April 2012

Last week we headed out for the babies first road trip and vacation.  We left out on the morning of Wed, April 18th and returned the late afternoon on Sat, April 21st.  I would like to call this our "trial run" vacation.  Let me just start off by saying the babies did AMAZING.  They rode in the car very well on the approimately 7 hour journey to Gulf Shores.  I must add that my mom got to join us on this trip.  Fun was had by all.

Here is a few things we learned from our first vacation with children:
- Packing lightly doesn't really exist
- Staying at a place that has a resturant is great for lunch time beach breaks
- Harrison is definently our water baby....poor kid will be using a lot of sunscreen this summer (I'm happy to report that neither baby came back with sunburns)
- Hadley loves the water, but it has to be the right temperature for her (insert the word diva here)...She does seem to tan easily though.
- Our children are great travelors!
- It is good to have an extra hand on deck.
- People will constantly ask how far apart in age the babies are.  I do realize that they don't really look alike nor are they built alike, but lets think about this for a minuate...Is it really possible to have children that close together if they weren't twins.  Maybe they think that Justin has a baby and I have a baby and we just met and are now together?!?!
- I'm glad we didn't hire a photographer to take family beach pics, because it would have been a total waste of money.  Taking pics of two almost 7 month olds is hard.  I was able to get a few good ones on my camera though.

Pictures from the trip and a 7 month post to follow.....
